I Am Qin Shi Huang

Qin Shi Huang was the first of China's emperors, who ruled over more than two thousand years of feudal history, and one of the most legendary and extraordinary rulers in Chinese history. I am Qin Shi Huang. Told in the protagonist's first-person voice, this novel begins when Qin Ying Zheng is made crown prince by King Zhuangxiang of Qin. The first volume covers the period when Lü Buwei governed and the Queen Dowager ruled as regent, focusing on the history before King Ying took power in his own right. Through the Huayang coup, the invasion of Qin by the six states, Chengjiao's rebellion, and Lao Ai's attempted coup, it explores the inner world and coming of age of the young King Ying Zheng. The second volume, “Swallowing the Six States and Unifying China,” explores the inner world and struggles of King Ying Zheng as a young politician after taking power. A third volume will eventually tell the story of Qin Shi Huang's journey as he governs a unified empire after conquering the six states. You can read this as a transmigration novel, or as a realistic novel. This is the author's first novel to be published publicly. The writing grows from rough to polished, and the story finds its stride as it goes. Of course, the author's own knowledge and perspective may leave much to be desired, so please be understanding. By a special twist of fate, you and I have met in this little corner of the world, where we can appreciate the wisdom of our great ancestors and reflect on their merits and failings. Over a jug of wine, old friends meet; so many stories, past and present, are now just tales to laugh about. The spiritual kinship that shines through the written word is the warmth we give each other, and the sustenance that helps us brave the road ahead. Let us cherish it as we journey on.
