This book is the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" textbook for colleges and universities. It is compiled based on the "Basic Requirements for Structural Mechanics Course Teaching" formulated by the Ministry of Education's College Mechanics Basic Course Teaching Guidance Subcommittee and relevant national standards and teaching reform and development needs. This book is divided into ten chapters: introduction, analysis of geometric composition of planar systems, analysis of internal forces of statically determinate structures, principle of virtual work and calculation of displacement of statically determinate structures, force method, displacement method, asymptotic method, influence line and its application, matrix displacement method, and introduction to structural dynamics. Each chapter is followed by a summary, thinking questions, exercises, and reference answers to the exercises. This book can be used for teaching at different majors and levels in engineering colleges such as hydropower, civil engineering, and bridges. It can also be used as a self-study textbook for TV universities, night universities, and correspondence courses in related majors. It can also be used as a reference for students and technicians in other majors.
