The White Impermanence of Naraka: Bladepoint

Ji Yingying slowly rose to her feet. Unexpectedly, she felt remarkably calm inside. Last night's pain, anger, and despair seemed to have faded away along with her once-black hair. She lowered her head to gaze at her new reflection in the water, and suddenly felt that this appearance might suit her better now: a monster abandoned by the world, a soul-reaping ghost from the underworld, White Impermanence.

She crouched down and cupped a handful of clear stream water. The icy water slid over her face, washing away the blood and tears from the night before. Her movements were gentle and unhurried, as if she were simply going through an ordinary morning wash. As the last droplet fell from her pale fingertips, Ji Yingying knew that her former self had vanished forever with the flowing water.
