This book is a comprehensive and detailed introduction to the history of motor invention and the history of motor technology development. The book not only provides a detailed tracing of the history of the emergence, birth and improvement of motors, but also a comprehensive discussion of the technological development of various types of motors (including steam turbine generators, hydrogenerators, DC motors, AC induction motors and transformers), a review of the development of motor theory, electrical materials for motors and motor insulation, an introduction to the development history of major foreign motor companies, and a detailed discussion of the development of China's motor industry. The book contains realistic descriptions of major motor historical events and important motor products, as well as descriptions of famous motor figures. This book can be used as a reading reference for teachers and students majoring in electrical engineering in colleges and universities, scientific researchers engaged in electrical technology research, scientific and technological personnel in the motor industry, and readers who pay attention to the history of world technology (especially the history of electrical technology).

The book "History of Motors" is so interesting! It introduced the development history of motors in detail and taught me a lot of interesting knowledge. I particularly enjoyed the stories about famous motor figures in the book, and I was deeply inspired by their wisdom and courage. Moreover, the book is very rich in content, including not only theoretical knowledge, but also historical events and product introductions, making it not boring at all.
Most of the author writes from the perspective of generators, especially gas turbines and large hydraulic generators. This may be the direction of the author's work. Regarding modern motors and controls, the development history of small motors is seriously lacking. I would rather see the development history of permanent magnet brushless motors and private server motor control and algorithms. But it was still very rewarding, and overall it was a good book.
