"Water Margin" is the pinnacle of heroic legends in the history of Chinese literature. It takes the Song Jiang Uprising at the end of the Northern Song Dynasty as the background, and creates a group of 108 heroes such as Song Jiang and Lu Zhishen with rich colors and vivid colors. They have distinctive personalities and full flesh and blood.
The story of the Liangshan heroes originated from the historical fact of "Thirty-six people from Song Jiang traveling across Shandong" at the end of the Northern Song Dynasty. Later, it was added to the legend through word of mouth. During the Southern Song Dynasty, it was already a popular theme among storytellers. After the fall of the Song Dynasty, it was combined with the form of Yuan dramas. After generations of accumulation, at the end of the Yuan Dynasty and the beginning of the Ming Dynasty, the scholar Shi Naian unifiedly revised and organized these Water Margin stories and compiled them into a long chapter novel "Water Margin".
A copy of "Water Margin" is available to millions of people. Those who love it will praise it for its eternal wonders; those who hate it will criticize it as a piece of pedantry. Now, more than a hundred years have passed by, and the Ming and Qing dynasties that repeatedly banned it have perished, but the spread of "Water Margin" has never stopped.
