A Difficult Path Between Light and Shadow

Tian Li’s mother changed his college application, sending him to a local university. There, he ran into Sui Mingyu again, the childhood friend he had once depended on so much.

Tian Li was in love with Sui Mingyu and resolved to get closer to him, hoping they could keep each other company like they had as children.

He transferred into Sui Mingyu’s major. He had assumed Sui Mingyu had forgotten him, but to his surprise, Sui Mingyu still remembered him and cared for him just as tenderly as before.

Unable to stop his heart from stirring, he then learned that Sui Mingyu was deeply opposed to romantic relationships and marriage. Tian Li tried to hide his feelings, but Sui Mingyu seemed to tempt him at every turn. Unable to resist, he ultimately stayed by Sui Mingyu’s side in the way Sui Mingyu wanted.

After a series of events brought him to understand the circumstances Sui Mingyu had faced over the years, Tian Li had no choice but to leave him.

They would not meet again until eight years later.
