In the world depicted in our story, a dimension apart coexists with the real world, hidden from view. These spaces are like enormous invisible whirlpools, silently drawing energy from the entire world. They create mysterious pocket realms known as Otherworlds.
These Otherworlds, each existing in a different dimension, lie hidden all around us, but ordinary people cannot see them. Yet intelligent beings that feed on anomalous energy can move freely between these otherworldly spaces and the real world. Humans infected by these beings gradually lose themselves and may even undergo mutations.
For thousands of years, certain secret organizations have discovered that the Otherworlds are quietly nurturing suitable habitats for beings from other dimensions. At the same time, the Otherworlds also give rise to mysterious objects imbued with supernatural powers. If someone can resonate with one of these objects, they may even absorb supernatural abilities from it.
However, the existence of otherworldly beings cannot be proven. The few traces that can occasionally be found are bizarre phenomena that defy scientific reason, so the public can only classify them as paranormal events.
Although certain secret agencies began monitoring and investigating incidents involving otherworldly beings long ago, their efforts have generally yielded little. Moreover, these organizations keep even their meager research findings strictly confidential, beyond the reach of ordinary people.
