The Southern Ruan

Ruan Nan fled the famine and ended up near the Lu family’s home. They took her in, telling outsiders she was their child bride and would eventually marry Lu Chao, but they treated her like their own daughter.

Then an accident befell both the Lu family’s parents. Lu Chao left for the capital to take the imperial examinations and never sent word. All that remained were Ruan Nan and his second younger brother, Lu Xi, relying on each other.
