The Poisonous Strategist: Risking My Life to Help the Empress Seize the Throne

Li Mu transmigrates to the Great Yan dynasty, which is at war with the Turks. Li Mu sends troops to burn the enemy’s provisions and puts himself in the middle of the action, driving back the Turkish army.

Li Mu says, “Father, tie me up right now. Put me at the center of the top of the city gate, then have two soldiers hold blades to my neck so the Turkish barbarians can all see me.”

At his words, everyone erupts in confusion, unable to understand what he’s planning.

The strategist with the handlebar mustache looks at Li Mu. Seeing how serious he is, the strategist frowns and asks:

“Young Master, what are you trying to accomplish?”

Li Mu smiles. “Everyone, think about it. Everyone knows I, Li Mu, am the only son of the supreme commander.”

“If I’m dragged up to the gate and they’re about to cut off my head as a sacrifice, that will tell everyone that our supreme commander is ready to fight to the death and defend the city at all costs.”

“When the soldiers defending the city see that even a spoiled young master like me isn’t afraid to die, they’ll be even less likely to retreat!”
