[Modern Romance + Devoted Love + Mutual Devotion]
That weekend, Wen Wen was at home writing, while I sat on the sofa, looking out at the scenery.
“Big Brother, how far along are the wedding preparations?”
Wen Wen said, “We’ve already finalized things with the venue, and the invitations have gone out. Your wedding dress and my suit are ready, and our custom wedding rings have arrived too. All that’s left is for the day to come.”
“Big Brother, can we call off the wedding?”
Wen Wen looked at me.
“Why?” he asked.
“I don’t want to have a wedding anymore.”
Wen Wen walked over and pulled me onto his lap.
He said gently, “Baby, can you tell me why?”
I looked at him without a word.
Tears began streaming down my face.
“Baby, don’t cry,” Wen Wen said.
He wiped my tears away,
but the more he wiped, the more I cried.
“Big Brother, I’m sorry. I’m so sorry,” I sobbed.
“It’s okay, Baby. It’s okay,” Wen Wen said.
He held me in his arms.
How could I tell him the real reason?
I couldn’t bring myself to say it. I’m sorry, Big Brother.
