This Tragic Romance Isn't Tragic? Who Do You Think You're Fooling?

After my little sister drowned, I became the one blamed for her death.

Dad threw me into the river and held my head down. Water poured into my nose as I struggled. As I started to lose consciousness, I heard him snarl, “Why couldn’t it have been you who died?”

My older brother and sister held down my kicking legs. “You killed our little sister. You deserve to die in her place.”

Mom beat me frantically. “Why don’t you just die!”

That day, I nearly died.

But I survived, living year after year in endless guilt and blame, never to be forgiven.

My whole life plunged into darkness, with no hope of redemption.

Lu Zeyi and I grew up together as childhood sweethearts.

I loved him, and he loved me, so we got engaged as naturally as could be.

I thought he’d always love me, but just three years into our engagement, he changed his heart.

Everyone knew Lu Zeyi kept a mistress at home. Even the rival I couldn’t stand knew.

I was the only one who remained oblivious.

After three years studying abroad, I graduated and returned home.

We’d grown up together, so I couldn’t believe Lu Zeyi would really betray me.

But on the night I got back, I saw him at a bar, holding two gorgeous women and feeding them drinks mouth to mouth.

Distraught, I went to the Lu family home, wanting to hug my puppy.

But the puppy was gone.

The puppy we’d raised together for seven years had been abandoned.

All because his mistress didn’t like having a dog in the house.
