Espionage: I Keep Using Poisonous Schemes, but Dai Li Tells Me to Calm Down

He is a Taoist who came down from the mountains with his sword to fight the Japanese. He is the top “poison agent” the Juntong has kept on ice. After Wang Tianmu, one of the Juntong’s Four Heavenly Kings, defected, the underground intelligence network behind enemy lines in Shanghai and North China was nearly wiped out. With no other choice, Dai Yudong activated Gu Han. Mission: assassinate a senior official at 76 and restore the Juntong’s operations in Shanghai. What? Gu Han engineered a battle between 76 and the Japanese military police, leaving more than two thousand dead or wounded? Mission: provoke the Japanese into targeting the foreign powers in the International Settlement and the French Concession. What? He led the Shanghai military police in slaughtering the British and French residents of the concessions, forcing Japan to declare war on sixteen Western nations? Mission: infiltrate Tokyo and cause as much damage as possible. What? Gu Han turned Tokyo into a barbecue, killing or injuring a million people? … Though Gu Han is a Taoist, he lives by a saying from Confucius: “Those who first made human-shaped burial figures, did they have no descendants?” In other words: if invaders dare offend China, slaughter them until they have no descendants.
