As a newly arrived soul reporting to the underworld, Ji Yiyi plants her hands on her hips and loudly protests at the underworld messenger who has come to seize her soul: "Whoever wants a life like that can have it. I'm done with mine!"
And so Ji Yiyi begins her life as a laid-back soul, no longer troubled by the worries of the mortal world. She thinks she can lie flat from then on, never realizing that trouble always comes knocking.
Luckily, the boss she's just met seems pretty powerful. Watching the tough guys who came looking for trouble get put in their place and fall silent, Ji Yiyi rubs her hands together, thinking with a grin that this is kind of satisfying.
One day, she accidentally causes a huge disaster, setting off the fuse that will ignite a war between the gods and demons. Ji Yiyi nervously looks up at the extraordinarily handsome man in front of her and pinches his sleeve between two fingers, giving it a little tug. "Boss, I know I was wrong. I won't do it again."
The man looks down at her round little head without changing expression. After a long moment, he reaches out and pats her head, then says in a calm, serious voice, "Next time, make sure you deal with it cleanly."
