Back when I was a student, after dinner on summer evenings, I loved sitting with my elders in the open space by our home, gazing up at the boundless night sky. Whenever I saw a shooting star streak across the vast heavens, a seed of longing for space travel took root in my heart. Those brilliant stars, like jewels set in a black sky screen, were mysterious and enticing. Countless times, I imagined breaking free of the atmosphere to explore the boundless mysteries of the universe.
As I grew older, my love of space travel deepened. I witnessed China's space program grow from nothing into a formidable force. Every rocket launch and every satellite entering orbit was like a blazing fire igniting in my heart, strengthening my yearning for that sea of stars.
I imagine that in the not-too-distant future, we will have more advanced spacecraft capable of carrying people to distant planets faster and more safely. We will no longer be content to explore only the Moon, but will set our sights on Mars, Jupiter, and even more distant star systems.
The Chang'e moon landing that has attracted the most attention recently, I look forward to seeing the completion of a lunar base in my lifetime.
