The story takes place in the 1990s, when a foreign trade company was restructured from an industry management company and formulated a development plan to build a multinational comprehensive trading company. In order to implement this strategic plan, the company recruited nine college student foreign trade officers. The novel portrays the image of college student foreign traders represented by Jia Yong, tells their growth stories and life experiences during overseas trade in countries along the "One Road, One Belt", and commemorates the struggling youth of that generation of foreign trade workers.
