Shen Ling is a professor of English, refined and easygoing, but he dislikes spending long periods of time with other people. By chance, he comes across Yang Jingzhi, barely alive in the spring rain. He intends to help out of kindness, but as he removes Yang Jingzhi’s wet clothes, he discovers bloodstains that do not belong to him...
There are only a dozen chapters, so I read them in one sitting.
Regarding Shen Changsheng (or Yang Jingzhi) and Shen Ling, the author has laid a lot of foreshadowings, and Shen Ling really dotes on Shen Changsheng (especially the incident of building a tree house, which really brought tears to my eyes), and I really want to make fun of them. I am looking forward to the following plot, but I feel that there will be a lot of knives, uh... The author taps the knife lightly.
The two story lines in the book are narrated very well, without favoring one over the other, and the language is more colloquial (such as those dialects and swear words). It doesn't look tiring and is very funny.
The description of the case handling process is very detailed, such as the description of the corpse, the sculptures on Tongqiao, and the characters of Lao Wang and Song Yuan are all very distinct.
Generally speaking, the details of this book are still very good, the plot is not too vague, and the foreshadowing is well laid out. As the author's first book, I feel that it is already very good. Come on, the author, don't stop updating, I'm optimistic about you💪
