Criminal Procedure Law of the People's Republic of China (Latest Revised Version)

After 15 years, the 2012 Criminal Procedure Law will be revised for the second time after review and is expected to be adopted at the fifth session of the 11th National People's Congress in March. After further revision, the number of articles is expected to increase to nearly 300. The revised content mainly focuses on the urgent problems faced by our country internationally and the outstanding problems currently existing in domestic judicial practice, including "extorting confessions through torture" that are generally concerned by the society, the protection of the rights of criminal suspects, and the difficulty of petitioning and filing complaints. In order to meet the needs of state agencies, judges, prosecutors, lawyers and other legal workers, as well as teachers and students of law schools to compare and study the new and old criminal procedure laws, this book was specially edited and published by the Office of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress.
