Synopsis

In order to strengthen the publicity of the legal system, quickly popularize legal knowledge, and serve the construction of my country's democratic and legal system, China Democracy and Legal Press has published a series of legal separate editions of the National People's Congress Standing Committee's gazette version on a large scale and in all varieties over the years based on the laws passed and revised by the National People's Congress Standing Committee on a regular basis every year. The Civil Code of the People's Republic of China is known as the "Encyclopedia of Social Life" and is a declaration and guarantee of civil rights. If the Constitution focuses on limiting public power, then the Civil Code focuses on protecting private rights. Almost all civil activities, ranging from contract signing and company establishment to paying property fees and divorce, can find a basis in the Civil Code. The Civil Code has a total of 7 sections, namely General Provisions, Property Rights, Contracts, Personality Rights, Marriage and Family, Inheritance, Tort Liability, and Supplementary Provisions, totaling 1,260 articles.
