The Liang Empire, once a glorious power, has weathered three hundred years of turmoil and still stands at the head of the realm. Since Emperor Lin Yuan founded the dynasty, its territory once stretched without limit, covering the four seas. It was said, “The whole land of China belongs to Great Liang.”
But time has moved on. The current emperor neglects the affairs of state, treacherous ministers fill the court, eunuchs run rampant, and the people live in misery.

In the north, despite the natural advantage offered by Tianshan, the constant incursions by foreign tribes force the court to dispatch the celebrated veteran general Mo Feng with a hundred thousand cavalry to repel them. Mo Feng is a battle-hardened old general who has repeatedly driven back the enemy single-handedly, sending one victory report after another.
But in the end, he cannot withstand years of warfare and the ravages of time. He dies of illness at the foot of Tianshan.
His son, Mo Yun, is a gifted young man raised under his father’s strict guidance. Not only is he well versed in military strategy, he also possesses extraordinary tactical talent.
