Textual Research on Jiaofang in Tang Dynasty

This book focuses on three themes: Jiaofang system, music and literature in the Tang Dynasty. In terms of the Jiaofang system, this paper analyzes the unresolved Jiaofang names in academic circles, and proposes the concepts of "Trinity" and "central-local" construction models of Jiaofang in the Tang Dynasty. With the help of newly discovered epitaphs, a number of Jiaofang music officials were examined to reveal the characteristics of their family inheritance. In terms of Jiaofang music, this article clarifies the controversy over the four music of Jiaofang, and puts forward a new explanation for the uniqueness of the Hu music in the middle and late Tang Dynasty. Taking the Jiaofang song "Wenxunzi" as a case study, the rules of the production and music use of Jiaofang music in the Tang Dynasty are discussed. In terms of the relationship between Jiaofang and literature, starting from the two spaces closely related to Jiaofang, Fandi and Pingkangfang (Beili), the issue of the place where literature, art and literature took place in Jiaofang in the Tang Dynasty was examined. Through an in-depth examination of these three themes, this book presents a new look at the study of Jiaofang in the Tang Dynasty.
