How do we learn? How can I learn better?
Sanjay Sarma, director of the Open Learning Project at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), explores the true meaning of learning across multiple disciplines such as neuroscience, cognitive science, and developmental psychology, and inspires people to think about future learning and education methods.
Is standardized education impeccable?
Is cramming a good way to learn?
What does curiosity mean for learning?
How to activate inert knowledge?
Is forgetting a failure of memory?
…
In this rapidly changing society, a "learning revolution" is quietly emerging. This scientific study of how humans learn not only provides learners with effective learning methods, but is also a timely and precious gift for every educator. If educators want to break through the shackles of traditional education forms, only by applying learning science to classroom teaching practices can they promote learners to learn more efficiently and make learning easier and more humane.

Many of the learning perspectives mentioned in this book resonated with me! For example, the book says that forgetting does not mean the failure of memory. This reminds me that I used to cram before exams, but in fact, real learning requires constant repetition and consolidation. The author uses scientific methods to explain the essence of learning, and also provides many practical learning methods, which are really suitable for housewives like me. I will also teach these methods to my children so that they can learn more efficiently. This book would also be a valuable gift for educators!
