Design Research on Ancient Chinese Ceramic Tea Sets

Ceramic tea sets in the Tang Dynasty mainly include tea stoves, water boilers and tea cups. A considerable part of the tea stoves are ceramics, and most water boilers are open. The most highly regarded tea cups are celadon from Yue Kiln. The main ceramic tea sets of the Song Dynasty were tea stoves, water boilers and tea cups. At this stage, most water boilers had bunched mouths, and the most highly regarded tea cups were Jian Kiln black porcelain. The ceramic tea sets of the Tang and Song dynasties can be discussed from different perspectives in writings, poems and paintings. The Yuan Dynasty was a transitional period from the Tang and Song Dynasties to the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and tea sets had transitional characteristics. Ceramic tea sets in the Ming Dynasty mainly include tea stoves, water boilers, tea cups and teapots. In addition to writings, poems and paintings, it can also be discussed from the perspective of novels. The most highly regarded tea cups are white porcelain from Jingdezhen kiln. The tea sets fired by the imperial kiln are very exquisite. In addition, teapots appeared in the middle and late Ming Dynasty, and Yixing purple clay teapots have a high reputation. In the ceramic tea sets of the Qing Dynasty, white porcelain represented by Jingdezhen kiln was still the mainstream of tea cups. Covered bowls became popular and widely used. Teapots represented by Yixing purple clay teapots have become extremely common.
