Synopsis

This is not a wish-fulfillment story or a sweet romance. There are no twists or face-slapping. It simply recounts the joys and sorrows of young men and women in a time of war and upheaval.

As Mr. Ouyang says in the story: “In these chaotic times, old friends cannot stay together for long. To meet even once is a blessing earned in a past life.”

Through Li Qingtian and Yang Yuchun’s journey from meeting to parting, meeting again, and falling in love, this story tells of two lovers who find each other amid the flames of war and use their lives to show what love truly means. Even when faced with separation and death, they remain true to the promise they made at the start, allowing love to become the most beautiful belief in their lives.

Why Are There So Few Novels Set in Republican-Era China These Days?

There are hardly any novels set in the Republican era these days, like ones about the Northern Expedition or the war against Japan. Any recommendations?

Please Recommend Stories About Ordinary People Falling in Love

I don't want to read stories about romance among people who have nothing to do with ordinary life anymore. No more CEOs, goddesses chasing after the male lead, or male leads who are loaded. I want to read about ordinary people having simple, everyday romances.
