In the Nine Provinces of Huaxia, legend has been passed down since time immemorial: Pangu cleaved open the primordial chaos, and the world began. Since then, none could fathom the distance between heaven and earth. The ancient tales that followed included Nüwa mending the heavens, the Investiture of the Gods in the Primordial Era, Hou Yi shooting down the suns, and Gonggong striking the sky.
The gods hung above the Nine Heavens, while the nether immortals dwelled beneath the Nine Hells.
