(Shocking! My professor is my husband from a past life, and he wants to spoil me rotten!!!)
Xiao Chufeng, Duke of the State, had always been aloof and distant, inspiring fear in everyone who saw him. But during a mission, he met his beloved, Gu Liyu, and gave him all his tenderness. He brought him back to the Duke’s residence, intending to marry him. Then urgent news of war on the frontier arrived, and Xiao Chufeng rushed to the battlefield.
To ensure Xiao Chufeng’s safe return, Gu Liyu went to Lingyu Temple and gave him his own fortune to help him survive his tribulation. After Xiao Chufeng returned victorious, a princess grew jealous of his love for Gu Liyu. She conspired to have Gu Liyu poisoned and sent to Cuiyu House. Xiao Chufeng rescued him, slaughtered everyone at Cuiyu House, and sent the princess to a brothel on the frontier. But on the day of their wedding, Gu Liyu’s fortune ran out, and he left Xiao Chufeng forever. When Xiao Chufeng learned that Gu Liyu had given him all his fortune, he raced to Lingyin Temple to find a way to save him. Overcome with grief, he suffered devastating physical and mental trauma. He collapsed in the mud, coughing up blood as blood streamed from his eyes until he went blind. At last, unable to hold on any longer, he fell heavily into a muddy hollow and slowly closed his eyes, shutting out the entire world in darkness.
When he awoke, he had been reborn as a young professor, Shen Ye. In this unfamiliar world, he relied on his new body’s memories and searched desperately for Gu Liyu. Heaven rewards the devoted: “Fate binds those meant to meet, and no distance can change a steadfast heart.” At last, he found Gu Liyu, now a first-year student at his university, under the name Gu Yunzhou. But Gu Yunzhou had no memories of his past life. Xiao Chufeng, now Shen Ye, embarked on a series of schemes to win him back. Once he succeeded, he cherished Gu Yunzhou like a priceless treasure.
