(Coming-of-Age, Superpowers, Surviving the Apocalypse, Not a Power Fantasy)
At first, Cheng Li just wanted to stay alive, work hard to earn money, and support himself and his younger sister.
But the apocalypse struck without warning, and the sudden changes caught everyone off guard.
Countless plants and animals mutated into monsters that only chased after flesh and blood. Humanity's disaster had arrived.
The good news was that Cheng Li awakened the ability to see the future. The bad news was that he got excited too soon: he could only foresee trivial little things...
While ability users joined the fight against the monsters to defend their homes, Cheng Li could only struggle to survive in the cracks. He had been reckless, brave, and in pain; he had also backed down...
Just when he thought he would spend his whole life hiding and keeping his head down, he discovered he might have another trick up his sleeve.
A passerby dies: their ability is given to me.
An enemy dies: I pick up their ability.
What? Humans can only awaken one ability? Oops! I accidentally picked up too many!
So what if it's the apocalypse? I'm not scared! (I put on a brave face for a minute, then immediately tuck my tail between my legs.)
(The male lead is an ordinary person, not some great hero. At first, he only wants to look after himself, his friends, and his family. After going through a lot, he gradually grows up. He has no golden finger, and he can't start out acting like a big shot who looks down on everyone.)
I came here specifically to review it. I haven't encountered such a good-looking novel in a long time. It's very heart-warming. Although it is a post-apocalyptic novel, the characters in it are good and bad. The protagonist team is not very violent. They are all living beings with flesh and blood and warmth. I like the author's style very much.
The story is very interesting. I like reading books like this. The male protagonist transforms from an ordinary person step by step. I hope he can achieve great things in the future.
