Pain, irritability, anger, and other negative emotions can all give rise to resentment. When that resentment grows strong enough, it condenses into a terrifying monster: a Vengeful Spirit! Vengeful Spirits are incredibly dangerous and evil beings. They feed on human negativity and grow ever stronger. But where resentment exists, its opposite must exist too: spiritual energy! Spiritual energy is the bane of Vengeful Spirits, able to suppress the evil thoughts and power they give off. Those who know how to wield spiritual energy and perform all kinds of miraculous arts are revered by the world as Spirit Abyss Masters. Spirit Abyss Masters are divided into ten ranks according to their strength: Jia, Yi, Bing, Ding, Wu, Ji, Geng, Xin, Ren, and Gui. The gap between each rank is immense, and the higher one climbs, the harder cultivation becomes. But the power gained grows greater all the same.
