After She Died, She Became the King of the Underworld’s One True Love

{Outspoken younger sister vs. unhinged older sister, a clever and brave female lead, and a male lead who fiercely takes her side}

(Note: The female lead grows and develops over the course of the story.)

Jiang Mingzhu, the sixth princess of the Nanxia Kingdom, was born with a strange fragrance that lingered for a hundred days.

The Grand Astrologer of the Bureau of Astronomy declared her the reincarnation of a goddess, destined to bring prosperity and peace to Nanxia.

She grew up cherished by everyone, a mischievous and adorable darling of the family.

But on her coming-of-age ceremony, a carefully plotted conspiracy branded her a traitor. Overnight, she lost all her wealth and status.

She collapsed on the floor of her bedchamber, and when she awoke again, she had already died in the palace.

Her soul left her body, and Black and White Impermanence forcibly dragged her to the underworld.

She had no memory of her final moments. When the Ox-Head Underworld Official told her she had taken her own life, she refused to believe him and raised a ruckus in the King of Hell’s court, nearly getting her soul shattered.

But the King of Hell merely glanced her way and stepped in to save her.

He took her hand, led her through a sea of flowers in the netherworld, and investigated the strange circumstances of her death…

Jiang Mingzhu: “Why are you so kind to me?”

Si Fan: “You look very much like an old friend of mine.”

Jiang Mingzhu: “Are you in love with her?”

Si Fan: “What do you think?”

His voice, low and as quiet as a secluded mountain stream, drifted into her ears. The faint scent of flowers on him brushed past the tip of her nose.

Even as a soul, she felt a flutter in her heart at their intimate distance.
