Lu Cheng would never forget the first time he saw Gao Xingwu.

It was a sweltering day, and the blazing sun scorched everyone’s skin, making them especially irritable.

He drove to the station to pick someone up, already in a foul mood, when he spotted a tall, beautiful woman hiding behind a pillar.

With her dark wavy hair and red lips, she only had to stand there casually to lift his spirits and make his eyes light up. It even seemed to cool the air around them.

Late at night, all was silent. Only the corner of the pool at the guesthouse gave off a faint glow.

Gao Xingwu sat in a chair, looking down as Lu Cheng repeatedly surfaced for air and plunged back underwater, feeling along the bottom of the pool inch by inch until he had searched the entire floor.

Lu Cheng surfaced, gasping for breath, and looked at the woman standing on the poolside, confusion in his eyes.

Then

He watched Gao Xingwu take off her bracelet and drop it into the pool with a “plunk.”

Her amused voice came from beside him. “Now you’ll definitely find it~”

He thought he was taming a beloved pet, trying to make it more to his liking. But in the end, which one of them was really being tamed?
