Reborn in the Three Kingdoms: The Road to Power

[No System, relatively faithful to history, an ordinary person’s rise from nothing at the end of the Han dynasty]

The road to power is not just the protagonist’s. At the end of the Eastern Han dynasty, the only true colossus was the Yuan clan of Runan. After Emperor Ling’s death, the fall of the Han dynasty gave all the heroes of the age a chance to flourish. Their rise is part of this story too. See how Ma Shoucheng goes from woodcutter to noble, how Cao Mengde rises from the descendants of eunuchs to become a regional power, how Sun Bofu breaks through under immense pressure, how Liu Xuande goes from gathering followers in Zhuo County to becoming the King of Hanzhong, how a despised frontier soldier climbs step by step to become a powerful provincial governor, and how the protagonist goes from dockworker to rising star.

Was Emperor Ling truly entirely incompetent? What efforts did he make to stand against the great clans? What role did the Yuan clan of Runan play at the end of the Han dynasty? Was Tao Gongzu really a perfect gentleman? There may be reasonable stories behind all of these questions.
