Lan Xi is a courtesan. While fleeing his pursuers, Shen Qice accidentally stumbles into the brothel. To repay Lan Xi, who saves him, he pays for her first night.
Using the fact that she saved his life as an excuse, Lan Xi begs him to get her out of the brothel.
She grips the knife held against her neck and pleads humbly: “Your Highness, Seventh Prince, I'm beautiful, gentle, considerate, and I even saved your life. Helping me is a bargain you can't lose!”
He says, “You're just a dancer!”
She looks at him cautiously. “But I shared your bed. I'm your woman!”
“I want the throne, and I want you, too!”
