Ji Wenbai, a young man born into a noble family, possesses peerless good looks and a heart as pure and kind as his beautiful appearance. When he first sees the portrait that the artist Xie Xiuzhu has painted especially for him, he is stunned by his own otherworldly beauty. At the clever prompting of his friend, Lord Mi Yuanming, Ji Wenbai makes a wish upon the portrait: may the young man’s youth shine forever, while the portrait silently bears every mark left by time and every mistake he might make in his youth.
