Short Tales of Northeast China’s Spirit Mediums

Who can explain the affairs of this world? Who can make sense of them? Heaven and Earth are divided into yin and yang, and humanity into men and women! None can escape the ties of fate. With the right connection, a thousand hardships can be overcome; without one, even ordinary people cannot find their way through this world! Good and evil are always repaid in the end. Who can escape the cycle of Heaven’s justice? This is the story of a disciple who serves the spirits and bears incense. I hope the experiences I share can help those of you who feel lost. Reject superstition, and pass on traditional culture! May the incense lineage endure through generations, may the spirit tablets open the way, may the fox, yellow weasel, snake, python, and wandering spirits travel freely, and may disciples sit firm before their altars. Through words, images, and the communion of hearts, we help those who are fated to find us. Those with a connection can be helped even without money; those without one cannot be reached even with a fortune. May you prosper through good deeds, and may your success bring you renown!
