Liu Yuhao commanded the Independent Brigade and the Eighth Route Army County Brigade in the three counties of Taiqi and Dan to outwit the strongholds of Dujia Town and the Southwest Pass of Cishan, and conquer Taishan County. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, Chiang Kai-shek launched a civil war. The Beihai Independent Brigade was expanded into two regiments, and Liu Yuhao was appointed as the leader of the new independent regiment. Liu Yuhao led his troops to fight bravely and was seriously injured many times. In December 1950, Liu Yuhao voluntarily applied for transfer of employment and returned to his hometown, and successively served as deputy county magistrate, county magistrate, and county party committee secretary of Taishan County. They have contributed to the construction of their hometown by building reservoirs, transforming saline-alkali waterlogged lands, vigorously developing industry and commerce, and transforming polluting enterprises.
