Harry Potter: The Story Begins

(A complete mess, just skim it. I wrote it for fun.)

“Later on, Diagon Alley was still packed with people, Platform Nine and Three-Quarters was still jammed, and the 5972 train still sounded its whistle. Would you still dial 62442 from a red telephone booth? Would you still wait by the window for your own owl? Would you still cry alone at night? Would you still remember that lonely, miserable, disappointing night when you turned eleven? Later still, there was magic in the books, but outside them, there was only us. If only we could go to England and walk into a wall just once. If only we could have a butterbeer in Hogsmeade. If only we could play a game of Quidditch. But they're all just ifs. Would you still look at a broom on the floor and say ‘Up’ with all your hope? Would you still draw the Deathly Hallows symbol on your desk, wave a chopstick like a wand, and tear up when you saw ‘Always’ in your English textbook… In the very end, magic still exists, but sadly, we're no longer the protagonists.”
