"Grand Traces" is a novel written by writer Guo Jingming. It was first published in August 2010.
The novel is set in the fictional continent of Odin. It tells the story of Qi Ling, a simple-minded civilian boy from Fuze Town, who is accidentally selected as the apostle of the seventh-degree king Yin Chen, and is involved in the struggle for power and desire in the Aslan Empire of Water Source. With the reveal of the identity of the Silver Priest, the novel not only shows the shaking and dissolution of the sacred ruling system as a belief, but also gives the characters in the novel such as Yin Chen the mission of "awakening" and "resistance", and thus their fate becomes more tragic. The four kingdoms of water, wind, earth and fire jointly build a fantasy world - the continent of Odin. In this world dominated by mysterious and unpredictable soul arts, the seven strongest soul masters are called [Kings], and they represent the peak power of the entire country.
Located in the Aslan Empire, the water source in the west of the continent, soul masters exert their soul power by manipulating and controlling water elements such as frost, rain, and snow.
The story begins with Qi Ling, a civilian boy located in Fuze Town, south of Aslan, who accidentally got involved in a fight between spiritual masters. After recovering from his injuries, he was told that he had never been exposed to the world of soul magic and had become the [apostle] of the seventh-degree king - the king's heir. Moreover, a terrifying and ferocious soul beast actually appeared in his body...
