My younger sister and I are twin mermaid girls, blessed with the divine ability to bear divine beasts.
On the day we came of age, Father summoned all the unmarried princes and grandsons of the beast clans.
My sister chose a powerful prince of the flood dragon clan, hoping to give birth to a divine dragon and claim the throne as Beast King.
But she gave birth to five babies at once, all pitch-black, lowly half-beast flood dragons.
Though I was frail and sickly, I successfully gave birth to a divine dragon hatchling with Wang Zi, the notorious prince of the snake clan.
On the day of the coronation, my sister could not accept it. She strangled my divine dragon hatchling, ripped out my beast core, and threw our bodies into the beast-refining furnace, where our souls were utterly destroyed.
After being reborn, I saw my sister point at Wang Zi of the snake clan. “I only want him.”
I knew she had been reborn too.
I gave a cold laugh. Let’s see if she can give birth to a divine dragon in this life!
