The Harem Is Full of Hidden Dragons and Crouching Tigers, and the Consorts Play the Pig to Eat the Tiger

[Palace intrigue + doted on exclusively later on + play the pig to eat the tiger + happy ending + heroine focused on her career + a good emperor for a hero]

After finally making it into the palace, Jiang Shiwan discovers that every consort is a force to be reckoned with.

Noble Consort Rong is skilled at making incense.

Lady Zhang knows witchcraft.

And the emperor has a blade of his own in the palace.

One day, a maid finally can’t hold back and asks, “Your Highness... what are you good at?”

Jiang Shiwan points at herself. “You mean me?”

She rubs her chin, then looks up with smiling eyes and replies,

“I know how to play the pig to eat the tiger. Rawr! Just like this!”

But little by little, she realizes things are getting out of hand.

“Your Highness, Consort Rou is here to see you!”

“Your Highness, Consort Liang says she got here first and wants to cut in line.”

“Your Highness, Concubine Zhao is waiting outside too. Who would you like to see first...?”

Jiang Shiwan double-checks who she’s supposed to be winning over.

It’s the emperor, right?

So how did his harem start to feel like hers?

The emperor: “? I was away from the harem for just a few days. How did it become yours?”

Jiang Shiwan scratches her head sheepishly. “Maybe... I’m just too charming?”
