I read this book four times, thinking as I read. I am really familiar with the characters in the book. From what I heard and witnessed, the village bully should be like Liu Fuli, and even more untouchable; the ignorant (or shrewd?) Should be like Liu Gou, Liu Xiaohua, who is easily deceived by greed; Secretary Ma and Ning Xin must be a kind of hope, hoping to have such selfless, hard-working and uncomplaining good cadres; this is also the feeling that the author once had. The story may seem simple, but it is deeply involved, full of twists and turns, and is thought-provoking.
