The World Favored Me After I Reincarnated Through Cosplay

You're an utterly ordinary person. During a holiday, you arrange to meet a friend at an anime convention, only for a madman to suddenly show up and start attacking people with a knife. You should have kept your head down and thought, “It's none of my business,” but when you see him about to attack a little girl with blond hair and a red dress, you step in front of her. (Though when you get a better look, it turns out she's a boy.) Then, after taking the knife for him, you start seeing your life flash before your eyes.

But when you open your eyes, you've become Mori Taro.

Reborn into the world of Bungo Stray Dogs as Mori Ougai, you remember all the awful things he did in the original story and shudder. There's no way you can outplay that bunch of master plotters, so you absolutely, positively, definitely must not follow the plot...

But just as you think you'll live out an utterly ordinary life, the story begins and drags you into its whirlpool...
