A Dream of the Red Chamber: A Joyful Reunion

A dream of the Red Chamber, a thousand beauties enduring sorrow, ten thousand beauties sharing grief.

Tanchun said, “If only I were a man, I could leave this place. I would have gone out long ago and made a name for myself. Then I could speak my mind. But I was born a girl, and I have no right to say a word.”

Building a career and stepping into the public eye are men's affairs. Women aren't allowed to do such things. The Jia family's ancestors came from humble beginnings. With nothing but burning ambition, they risked their lives and fought their way through danger to build a great fortune for their descendants. Sadly, their later generations proved unworthy. Instead of studying hard and striving to improve, they made the family's honor rest on the shoulders of one woman. Such is the hand of fate.

I don't like the men in Dream of the Red Chamber. I only regret the gifted young women who lived behind closed doors, so I want to give them a different ending in another time and place.

Lin Daiyu is the central character of this story.
