There are three clans in the world: the Immortal Clan, the Demon Clan, and the Monster Clan. Of these, the tree spirits of the Monster Clan have the hardest time cultivating. Every step, from gaining intelligence to taking human form and then surviving their tribulation, is extraordinarily difficult.
Ever since Yun Xi gained intelligence, her surroundings had always been lively. Fluffy creatures played and frolicked around her in droves, sometimes scratching at her legs with their paws. It tickled. But when the sun sank below the horizon, Yun Xi was always lonely. She often wished time would pass faster, so she could take human form sooner and play with the fluffies.
One midnight, Yun Xi discovered a fluffy black head lying at her feet. Its owner was badly wounded, with blood pooling all around him. Unable to bear watching him bleed to death, Yun Xi sprinkled some flower dew over him. It could save him. This wolf beast was Feng Yi.
When Yun Xi was 1,200 years old, she saved that wolf beast. Later, after successfully taking human form, she met the reincarnation of the wolf beast who had protected her before she had a body. Through cultivation and hard work, she uncovered why her parents had abandoned her. Along the way, she picked up a whole bunch of fluffies… and protected a land and its people.
Yun Xi and Feng Yi’s romance is a side plot and doesn’t feature much. The main story is about Yun Xi spending time with all the fluffies. Yun Xi isn’t a silly, sweet damsel; she needs time to learn and understand things.
