Covert War: The Untold Story of the Underground Front

A revealing look behind the scenes of China’s clandestine front, and the untold stories of its unsung heroes. During the revolutionary struggle that led to the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the fight against the enemy was waged not only openly on smoke-filled battlefields, but also in secret along a hidden front. Countless unsung heroes ventured deep into enemy territory, endured life-and-death ordeals, and performed extraordinary feats. The intelligence they relayed shaped the course of the revolution and even changed the course of history. Focusing on major espionage cases involving China and Japan, China and the United States, and the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, this book reveals little-known secrets from the Chinese Communist Party’s intelligence and security operations. It lifts the veil on the heroes behind them, restores the details of history, and pays tribute to a glory that will never fade.
