(No scheming Empress! No Big Ru! No abused, evil antagonist Wei Yanwan! Welcome to Wei Yanwan’s female-led story! The characters follow the original novel, not Big Ru and Miracle Wanwan from the drama, but the original Ulanara Ruyi and Wei Yanwan. The novel’s Wei Yanwan is smarter and more capable than her drama counterpart, and this is a more inspiring story!)
What will happen when Ruyi rescues Yanwan from Qixiang Palace?
Ruyi uses the opportunity to expose the matter to the emperor. But through a twist of fate, Wei Yanwan ends up serving in the empress’s Changchun Palace. She is cautious and scrupulous in everything she does there. In the tenth year of Qianlong’s reign, the empress becomes pregnant again. To secure her own position, she presents Yanwan to the emperor. Because Yanwan’s face bears a slight resemblance to Ruyi’s, and she is a maid in the empress’s service, the emperor decrees that she be made a Noble Lady.
Noble Lady Wei Yanwan must choose between Consort Xian Ruyi, who saved her life, and Empress Langhua, who helped advance her career. Whom will she side with?
Not long afterward, the empress dies after losing her child and succumbing to grief. By then, Yanwan has become a Concubine of the Order of Beauty, but Consort Jin Yuyan, newly promoted to Noble Consort, targets and frames her at every turn. Yanwan bears the humiliation and eventually joins forces with Noble Consort Ruyi to expose Jin Yuyan’s true nature.
Ruyi takes her place as empress, and new faces keep appearing in the imperial harem. Consort Ling Yanwan feels that the emperor’s favor is too uncertain, so she tries every means to win his attention. By then, Jin Yuyan’s fortunes have run out. Ruyi and Yanwan scheme together to have her sons adopted into other branches of the imperial family, and she dies in despair.
Meanwhile, one by one, the rivals lurking in the shadows begin to reveal themselves...
See how Yanwan, spared five years of humiliation this time, joins forces with Ulanara Ruyi to establish herself in the imperial harem.
Similar to the style of the original novel, it is plain but depressing. But the characters are all normal, and the Queen is finally a real three-dimensional bad guy, unlike the messed up stupid fool in the novels and dramas. Ruyi is also normal, with principles, methods and conscience. I would like to call her Ruyi instead of the mocking Duru. Ling Yunche and Yan Wan are also normal and have weak intentions. When will the low-level people in the palace be able to decide their own destiny. Lian Xin is kind but also sad. I hope there will be a foreshadowing to give her a good death.
I feel that this fanfic is different from most of the popular ones. In this book, everyone has their own last resort; they have their own unique personality charm. Ruyi is a smart woman with principles and methods. Many times her conversations with Wei Yanwan really made me feel the way Zhen Huan and Cao Qinmo felt about the secret code in The Legend of Zhen Huan. Lang Hua was good at calculations but also valued friendship. She was moved by Yan Wan's long-term and dedicated service. Before she died, she saw through the nature of the battle in the palace and let go of her years of obsession. Now I just saw Mei Bin poisoning Qing Guiren. I feel that the author will make a big difference between the original work and the fan fiction here. I am looking forward to the next plot!!!
Good looking, unconventional
I really like this Ruyi's Royal Love in the Palace without Yi syndrome. The characters have flesh and blood and logic. The relationship between Yanwan and Ruyi is also handled very well. I look forward to the update.
