A sweet, devoted rural schoolteacher whose dream is to transform her hometown, and Xu Cun, an ambitious young entrepreneur who graduated from Peking University's management program.
The story is set around 2010. Yu Youyang's parents divorced when she was little, and she lived with her mother. Her father neglected her, while her mother rarely had time for her because of her demanding job.
In high school, she met Xu Cun, who loved her wholeheartedly, but they chose to part ways because their outlooks differed.
Her mother suddenly died from overwork. Her dying wish had been to see every child in her hometown make something of themselves and escape poverty. When Yu Youyang filled out her university application, she chose not to pursue medicine, the field she had been set on since childhood. Instead, she decided to become a teacher and fulfill her mother's unfulfilled wish.
She thought she would live an ordinary, uneventful life, but on her last trip before starting her teaching internship, she ran into Xu Cun again! If fate doesn't want you to miss someone, it will surely bring you back together!
In the end, Yu Youyang returns to her home village to teach, while Xu Cun seizes a business opportunity and successfully leads the whole village to prosperity.
