Case Files of Bureau Six: The Ancient Shaman

Overnight, her father was branded a traitor, and her mother vanished without a trace. The innocent and carefree Wei Yingshuang was forced to grow up in an instant. From then on, she bore the burden of searching for her parents while moonlighting as a full-time bodyguard for her childhood friend, who was born with a knack for attracting spirits.

For most people, running into an evil spirit is a rare occurrence. For this one, it's an everyday affair. She can encounter one on a night walk, while browsing an old street, or even while fishing a vengeful ghost out of a hot pot. Wei Yingshuang's schedule is split in two: half for searching for her parents, half for vanquishing demons and monsters for her childhood friend. She's either fighting evil or on her way to fight it.

But what gives her the biggest headache isn't the demons and monsters. It's the two great demons at her side. In terms of cultivation, they could topple half a city; in terms of looks, they could charm an entire street. The trouble is, the two of them look like a couple, so she keeps having to explain, "They're not like that. They're really just good friends, brothers."

Wei Yingshuang pinched the bridge of her nose and looked at the two devastatingly handsome faces behind her, wanting nothing more than to sigh at the heavens: Who, exactly, is saving whom here?
