The Debt of Family Ties

My older sister ran up an enormous debt and was hunted by loan sharks.

But instead of helping me, Mom held a knife to me and demanded I repay it, saying it was the debt of family affection I owed her.

The loan sharks beat me until I was crippled, then raped me.

Barely clinging to life, I struggled to call Mom for help.

She didn't believe me. At my sister's wedding, she cursed me, wishing I'd die soon.

With tears in my eyes, I whispered, "Mom, I've repaid everything I owe you."

In the end, I died in the bitterly cold wind.
