In Tongzhou Town, Hechuan County, in the south of the Wei Kingdom, mountains surround the town and waterways crisscross the region. In Yuquan Village, on the western bank of the Yushui River, a farmer named Hua had a daughter as beautiful as a flower. Her name was Hua Xiaoxi. One day, she accidentally fell into the water while saving someone. She thought she was doomed, but Chu Lingfeng, a bodyguard from neighboring Yushui Village, rescued her. After malicious rumors led the village scholar to break off their engagement, Hua Xiaoxi feared her future would be bleak. But then Chu Lingfeng arrived with his mother, a matchmaker, and a generous betrothal gift to ask for her hand. Together, the couple work hard and build a happy life in this sweet romance.
