A princess from a neighboring small kingdom comes to marry into the imperial family and takes a liking to Jun Mohan. The emperor tells her that his imperial uncle's wife won't agree to it.
The princess refuses to give up and is determined to win Jun Mohan's heart. Afraid his wife will get angry, Jun Mohan spends the night crouching outside. Chu Zhuoyan tells him he can't come back to their room until he sorts the matter out. Thinking he is silly, she reasons that if she won't let him sleep in their room, there are other rooms in the house. But by the middle of the night, she feels so bad for him that she lets him come back to their room. Even so, he catches a chill.
Long Zheng tells the princess that his imperial uncle is the most henpecked man alive and that she should give up. The princess waylays Jun Mohan on the road and says that she has a domineering husband at home, so why won't he be with her? For once, Jun Mohan answers calmly. It's not that he's afraid of his husband, he says, but that he's afraid of making him unhappy. He can't bear to see him frown, much less get angry. He's never once told him that he loves him, but he truly loves him very much.
We met in Chang'an, came to know each other in Chang'an, and at last fell in love in Chang'an. In the end, Chang'an became my one and only memory, and you became the love of my life.
He says meeting him was the luckiest thing that ever happened to him. He doesn't know that, in Jun Mohan's heart, he is the person he was luckiest to meet in his life.
