Historical romance. The beginning is a little melodramatic, but later the story turns to the fate of the country and its people.
The male lead is the strongest fighter in the story: a young hero, resourceful and strategic.
The female lead is the cleverest person around: smart, fun, resilient, and unyielding.
Gu Jin is a newly graduated programmer, a corporate drone about to be made permanent. On her way home at the end of the year, a restaurant explodes. When she opens her eyes, she finds herself in a thatched hut, in a house bare of everything. Her mother died young, she is twelve years old, and she has neither enough to eat nor warm clothes to wear.
She can only go up the mountain to gather herbs with the kind-hearted man next door, barely scraping by.
Then a man drops into her life from the sky. From that moment on, she is exhausted in body and mind, unable to escape him or leave him. Is it fate, or a curse?
Bells rang out, and a faint fragrance drifted through the air.
Jiang Yuanqin immediately steadied his mind, only to hear a soft voice call, “Husband.”
For an instant, everything blurred. The surroundings shifted into a prince’s manor draped in red silk. A graceful figure in plain clothes gazed at him from afar, her eyes gentle. She smiled at him, then turned and ran.
Jiang Yuanqin couldn’t help chasing after her. “Jinniang!”
The figure ran on, seeming both near and far, glancing back now and then to smile at him tenderly.
The fragrance lingered. Jiang Yuanqin looked down and saw that he was wearing wedding robes. He looked up and saw a bride in wedding finery sitting upright on the bed not far away.
He walked toward her step by step and lifted her veil. Gu Jin raised her eyes to him, bashful. Her phoenix-feather headdress and richly embroidered gown made her look dazzling.
Gu Jin seemed to part her red lips. “Husband.”
Jiang Yuanqin gazed at her tenderly, smiling as he bent toward Gu Jin.
Suddenly, Gu Jin spat blood. Looking down, she saw Jiang Yuanqin’s dagger plunged into her abdomen.
“You’re not her. How dare you act so brazenly?”
“You deserve to die.” He pulled out the dagger and stabbed her again and again, splattering blood across his face.
The male protagonist is a growth type. After all, he has been pampered since childhood and has a high status, so he is self-centered. His thoughts and temperament will change later. Baby Gu Jin is very cute. Who doesn't like it? I won't mention the rest for fear of spoilers. Everyone is waiting. I have an exam recently, so I can only try to keep one update. Even if I don't get good grades, I will finish the book seriously. Thank you for your support!
The heroine is really unlucky. For the rest, I just want to say that it's best to be. The damage has been done 🤦 🤦
Well written and engaging.
Good-looking, step-by-step, I hope Tang Xiaoxiao can have a good ending
Old bookworms said they can't get enough of it, the content is interesting, and the heroine has a cheerful and lively personality and is not romantically inclined.
I've read a few chapters, it's pretty good
